The nine commitments and declarations will be officially launched at the COP29 Climate Change Summit, which is expected to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from November 11 to 22. The final document also includes guidelines such as establishing green energy zones and corridors to promote sustainable investment and infrastructure;

As part of the nine final documents, a "COP29 Truce Call" was also released, which is inspired by the Olympic Truce and aims to maintain unity and humanity during next month's negotiations, overcome political differences and work together to "work to protect the planet." According to reports, the call has received the support of more than 127 countries and nearly 1,100 non-governmental actors.

“The final text reflects valuable input from a wide range of stakeholders and demonstrates the power of inclusive and transparent processes in addressing the climate crisis,” Babayev said in a statement. “They send strong market signals, help guide financial flows, and foster a sense of shared responsibility. I call on all parties and non-governmental actors to support these documents and help drive momentum ahead of COP29.”

The release of the final text comes after Babayev first outlined the new initiatives and an update on established commitments last month, setting out the plans in an open letter to various participants and representatives.

While the previously announced Action Agenda announced climate finance funds, investments and trading platforms to promote sustainability and clean energy, it did not directly mention the goal of shifting away from fossil fuels, which was outlined in last year's COP28 final agreement.
