DHL與Shell攜手推進布魯塞爾機場可持續航空物流

全球物流領導者DHL Express與能源巨頭Shell近日宣布簽署一項為期一年的重要合作協議，致力於推動布魯塞爾機場的可持續航空貨運運營。根據協議，雙方將通過管道向機場提供25公噸的可持續航空燃料（SAF），展現航空業邁向減碳的決心。

創新能源助力減碳目標

Global logistics leader DHL Express and energy giant Shell recently announced the signing of an important one-year cooperation agreement dedicated to promoting sustainable air cargo operations at Brussels Airport. According to the agreement, the two parties will provide 25 metric tons of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to the airport through pipelines, demonstrating the aviation industry's determination to reduce carbon emissions.

此次供應的SAF經國際可持續性與碳認證（ISCC）體系認證，主要由廢棄物和殘渣原料提煉而成，並以可再生原料進行加工。相比傳統化石航空燃料，該燃料預計可減少約80公噸的二氧化碳當量（CO2e）溫室氣體排放，成為航空貨運減碳的重要一環。

DHL與Shell的合作不僅展示了在能源創新領域的技術突破，還為航空運輸減排樹立了典範。這一計劃也與全球多項氣候倡議相呼應，例如《巴黎氣候協定》中設定的溫室氣體減排目標。

Innovative energy supports carbon reduction goals

The SAF supplied this time is certified by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) system, is mainly extracted from waste and residual raw materials, and processed with renewable raw materials. Compared with traditional fossil aviation fuels, this fuel is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 80 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e), becoming an important part of air cargo carbon reduction.

The cooperation between DHL and Shell not only demonstrates technological breakthroughs in the field of energy innovation, but also sets an example for air transport emission reduction. This plan also echoes many global climate initiatives, such as the greenhouse gas emission reduction targets set in the Paris Climate Agreement.

DHL Express全球網絡運營及航空部執行副總裁Travis Cobb表示，這項合作不僅將惠及客戶，還有助於實現公司整體的綠色目標：

Support DHL Green Vision

Travis Cobb, executive vice president of global network operations and aviation at DHL Express, said that this cooperation will not only benefit customers, but also help achieve the company's overall green goals:

"Our customers will benefit from our growing SAF coverage in different regions, which now also includes Brussels Airport. In addition to efficiency improvements, SAF is currently one of the most important ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from air transport. Through our GoGreen Plus service, customers can actively participate in making their supply chains more sustainable."

DHL的GoGreen Plus服務採用嵌入式減排方式，支持客戶透過使用SAF來降低範疇三（Scope 3）排放，避免傳統的碳抵消方式。這種"預訂並認領"的創新方法使企業能在供應鏈中報告更低的排放數據。

為了進一步推進可持續航空目標，DHL還計劃透過教育及市場宣傳，增強企業對於SAF效益的認識，並鼓勵更多行業夥伴加入減碳行列。

攜手邁向淨零未來

Shell航空部總裁Raman Ojha則強調了此次合作對推進可持續航空的重要性：

"我們與DHL在布魯塞爾機場的合作體現了雙方在減少航空貨運及整個航空價值鏈排放方面的共同承諾。透過供應SAF，我們為行業以及客戶提供了低碳解決方案，共同推動航空業邁向可持續發展。"

Shell還表示，此次合作是其加速能源轉型戰略的一部分，並計劃在未來幾年內增加SAF的供應量和全球覆蓋範圍。Shell希望通過與更多夥伴的合作，為航空業提供更穩定的可再生能源供應鏈。

DHL's GoGreen Plus service adopts an embedded emission reduction approach, allowing customers to reduce Scope 3 emissions through the use of SAF and avoid traditional carbon offset methods. This innovative "book and claim" approach enables companies to report lower emissions data across their supply chains.

In order to further promote the goal of sustainable aviation, DHL also plans to enhance corporate awareness of the benefits of SAF through education and market promotion, and encourage more industry partners to join the ranks of carbon reduction.

Working together towards a net-zero future

Raman Ojha, President of Shell Aviation Division, emphasized the importance of this cooperation in promoting sustainable aviation:

"Our cooperation with DHL at Brussels Airport reflects our joint commitment to reducing emissions from air cargo and the entire aviation value chain. By supplying SAF, we provide low-carbon solutions to the industry and customers, and jointly promote the sustainable development of the aviation industry."

Shell also said the collaboration is part of its strategy to accelerate the energy transition and plans to increase SAF's supply and global coverage over the next few years. Shell hopes to provide the aviation industry with a more stable renewable energy supply chain through cooperation with more partners.

The two parties will announce more details of the cooperation in the coming months and share relevant emission reduction data and best practices to further promote the green transformation of the global logistics industry.

思享永續顧問公司的張滙苡顧問認為，目前大眾對於可持續航空燃料的了解普遍較低，雖然降低碳排放是各界目前的共識，但SAF目前的成本仍然居高不下，需仰賴技術的革新以及穩定性提高，才有望更加普及化。台灣的各大航空企業目前也十分重視碳中和策略，尤其是航線遍佈全球的航空公司，實際上也具備與國際組織合作、推進SAF在台灣使用的實力，然而如何讓生產SAF的能源企業進駐台灣、在台灣拓展本地供應鏈，也需要政府的推廣與政策支持。

Consultant Zhang Huiyi from Scishare Sustainability Consulting believes that the current public’s understanding of sustainable aviation fuel is generally low. Although reducing carbon emissions is the current consensus among all walks of life, the current cost of SAF is still high, and it needs to rely on technological innovation and improved stability to become more popular. Taiwan's major aviation companies are also attaching great importance to the carbon neutral strategy, especially airlines with routes all over the world. They actually have the ability to cooperate with international organizations and promote the use of SAF in Taiwan. However, how to allow energy companies that produce SAF to enter Taiwan and expand the local supply chain in Taiwan also requires government promotion and policy support.
