伍德斯托克舊址迎和平亭

曾經舉辦1969年經典伍德斯托克音樂節的美國紐約州貝塞爾伍茲（Bethel Woods）起伏山丘，如今迎來一座全新的和平建築——和平亭（Peace Pavilion）。這座新建築由羅徹斯特理工學院（Rochester Institute of Technology, RIT）建築系副教授Amanda Reis領銜設計與建造，象徵著這片土地延續半世紀的和平與文化革新精神。

Reis與長期合作夥伴、加拿大曼尼托巴大學建築師Eduardo Aquino共同參與Bethel Woods藝術與建築節（BuildFest 2: Peace Rises），在眾多提案中脫穎而出，獲得最大規模的建築委託。她表示，這是一次結合設計創新、永續理念與教育實踐的難得機會。

靈感源於「陰陽」的平衡 和平亭坐落於風景秀麗的Filippini湖畔及鄰近森林之間，外型取材自「陰陽」圖騰，轉化為一座方形立體結構，呈現如繭般的包覆感，同時保留開闊的視野。西部紅雪松為主要建材，兼具自然耐候與隨時間增強的強度，賦予建築長久保存的可能。

內部空間充滿自然光，雪松牆面雕刻詩歌、文學與音樂詞句，包括直接出自伍德斯托克時代音樂人的歌詞，讓訪客在閱讀與沉思間與這段文化記憶產生共鳴。

and charred for antimicrobial properties - ensures long-term durability, while the skylit interior is inscribed with poetry, literature, and lyrics from Woodstock-era musicians, blending history with contemporary design.

師生協作的設計建造實驗 此計畫同時是RIT建築研究所碩士課程的設計—建造（design-build）實務練習。學生親手組裝預製木構件，學習從概念設計到現場施工的完整流程，並在現場解決各種突發挑戰。Aquino表示，這種臨場學習帶來最深刻的體驗。

為降低浪費，所有木構件皆以10英尺長度預製，需要精密的公差控制，體現永續與工藝間的平衡。RIT校內SHED工作坊協助製作雕刻雪松板，並將結構運送至距校區四小時車程的Catskills現場。

Reis emphasized that the pavilion was designed to invite contemplation and community use, from quiet reading and meditation to informal gatherings. During construction, visitors - including a couple who had attended Woodstock in 1969 - stopped by to experience the new space, underscoring its intergenerational resonance.

Reis指出，這座作品的意義在於激發人們對和平與共生的反思，也展示了建築如何超越形式，連結人與自然、歷史與未來。

By merging sustainability, craftsmanship, and cultural storytelling, the Peace Pavilion celebrates Woodstock’s enduring ideals of peace and collective creativity while offering a lasting public space for reflection and connection.
