夏航地勤電動化

Hawaiian Airlines 宣布於檀香山國際機場推動地面支援設備（Ground Support Equipment, GSE）電動化，透過導入鋰電池驅動設備，加速航空營運減碳與機場低碳基礎設施升級。航空公司表示，除了降低溫室氣體排放外，新設備也將提升行李裝卸效率，並改善第一線地勤員工的工作環境與噪音暴露問題。

Hawaiian Airlines has expanded the electrification of its ground support equipment (GSE) fleet at Honolulu International Airport as part of a broader strategy to reduce aviation emissions and modernize airport operations. The airline said the transition to lithium battery-powered equipment will not only lower greenhouse gas emissions but also improve operational efficiency and working conditions for ramp employees handling more than 8,500 checked bags across roughly 180 daily flights.

根據公司資料，檀香山機場目前每日需處理約180架次航班與超過8,500件托運行李，地勤設備長時間運轉造成的燃油消耗與碳排，一直是航空業減碳的重要挑戰。此次改採鋰電池設備後，將有助降低傳統柴油設備帶來的空氣污染與維運成本，同時提高地面作業效率。

Ground support operations have become an increasingly important focus for aviation decarbonization efforts as airlines seek to reduce emissions beyond aircraft fuel consumption. By replacing conventional fuel-powered equipment with electric alternatives, Hawaiian Airlines expects to cut air pollution, reduce maintenance costs, and create quieter working environments for employees.

Ryan Spies said electrifying Honolulu’s ground fleet represents an important step in the company’s long-term sustainability strategy. He noted that cleaner, quieter, and more efficient equipment supports both operational reliability and the customer travel experience while reducing environmental impact.

航空公司估計，此次電動化帶來的年度環境效益，相當於減少65輛汽車上路、抵消55戶家庭用電排放，或避免約25趟檀香山至西雅圖來回航班的相關碳排。

According to the airline, the annual environmental benefit of the electrification initiative is equivalent to removing 65 cars from the road, offsetting the electricity use of 55 homes, or avoiding emissions equal to approximately 25 roundtrip flights between Honolulu and Seattle.

此次轉型也獲得Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation 支持。州政府已在機場設置60座充電樁，並預計於今年內再新增8座，以強化機場電動設備基礎建設。官方指出，相關投資是夏威夷州總額70億美元航空現代化計畫的一部分，目標是提升機場能源效率並推動潔淨能源轉型。

The initiative is also supported by Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation, which has installed 60 charging ports at the airport and plans to add eight more later this year. State officials said the charging infrastructure investment is part of a broader $7 billion airport modernization program focused on energy efficiency and clean energy adoption.

目前，Alaska Air Group 旗下包括夏威夷航空與地平線航空（Horizon Air）在內的地勤設備電動化比例已達42%。根據集團2024年永續報告，夏威夷航空占集團範疇一與範疇二排放約26%，範疇三排放則占23%，顯示機場地面營運減碳對航空業整體淨零策略的重要性正快速提升。

Alaska Air Group, which includes Hawaiian Airlines and Horizon Air, said 42% of its ground support fleet has now been electrified. According to the group’s 2024 impact report, Hawaiian Airlines accounts for 26% of the company’s scope 1 and scope 2 emissions inventory and 23% of its scope 3 emissions inventory, highlighting the growing importance of airport ground operations in aviation decarbonization strategies.

隨著全球航空業面臨淨零轉型壓力，除了永續航空燃料（SAF）外，地面設備電動化、機場能源管理與智慧充電系統，也逐漸成為航空公司降低營運碳足跡的重要路徑。包括Delta Air Lines、United Airlines 與American Airlines 等國際航空業者，近年也持續投資電動拖車、行李牽引車與機場微電網系統，以降低航空地面營運排放。

As the aviation industry faces mounting pressure to achieve net-zero targets, airlines are increasingly investing not only in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), but also in electric airport operations, smart charging systems, and energy-efficient ground infrastructure. Major carriers including Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and American Airlines have also accelerated investments in electric towing vehicles, baggage tractors, and airport microgrid systems as part of broader sustainability initiatives.
