Europea Servizi Terminalistici (EST), a subsidiary of Italy’s shipping and logistics agency ISLA, has announced the purchase of a Konecranes Gottwald ESP.8 hybrid mobile harbor crane, scheduled for delivery and installation by summer 2025. The new equipment will be deployed at Augusta Port, Sicily, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and drive sustainability and smart port upgrades.

此項投資與 EST 近期獲得的 25 年貨櫃碼頭特許經營權 相輔相成，將進一步強化 Augusta 港的港口作業能力，並應對日益增長的貨運需求。EST 期望透過此次設備升級，不僅提升營運效率，更能符合全球減碳趨勢，積極實現港口環保轉型。

This investment aligns with EST’s recently acquired 25-year container terminal concession, further strengthening Augusta Port’s cargo handling capacity and addressing the region’s growing freight demands. EST expects that this equipment upgrade will not only improve operational efficiency but also support the port’s environmental transformation, in line with global decarbonization trends.

Konecranes Gottwald ESP.8 港口起重機具備 150 公噸的起重能力，並搭載 5.3 公尺塔架延伸裝置 與 65 公噸雙吊具，可顯著提升貨櫃裝卸效率，並適應特殊貨物的處理需求，例如 離岸風電設備、重型機械與大型結構元件。

Augusta 港近年來逐步成為地中海地區的 重要物流樞紐，尤其在 離岸風電產業的發展 上，港口的裝卸需求持續攀升。EST 透過此次設備升級，將能更有效率地處理這類高附加價值貨物，進一步提升港口在歐洲綠能產業供應鏈中的地位。

Enhanced Cargo Handling to Support Offshore Wind Industry Growth

The Konecranes Gottwald ESP.8 mobile harbor crane offers a lifting capacity of 150 tons and features a 5.3-meter tower extension along with a 65-ton twin-lift spreader, significantly boosting container handling efficiency while accommodating specialized cargo, such as offshore wind equipment, heavy machinery, and large structural components.

In recent years, Augusta Port has emerged as a key logistics hub in the Mediterranean, particularly with the rapid growth of the offshore wind industry, driving increasing cargo-handling demands. Through this equipment upgrade, EST will be better positioned to handle high-value cargo efficiently, further strengthening the port’s role within Europe’s green energy supply chain.

智慧化管理與環保技術並進

新型 Konecranes 起重機採用 混合動力技術，結合 柴油引擎與雙超級電容技術，可顯著降低燃油消耗與碳排放。此外，該設備支援 外部電源連接，待 Augusta 港口基礎設施升級完成後，即可實現 完全電氣化，進一步消除港口現場排放，推動港口的環保轉型。

此外，EST 也將導入 Konecranes TRUCONNECT 智能監測系統，該系統透過即時數據分析，提供 遠端監測、故障預測與條件式維護（CBM） 服務。這不僅能提高設備管理效率，降低維護成本，還能確保起重機的長期穩定運行，減少突發性故障影響作業流程。

Smart Management and Green Technology Integration

The new Konecranes crane is powered by hybrid technology, combining a diesel engine with dual supercapacitor technology, which significantly reduces fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Additionally, the crane supports external power connections, allowing full electrification once Augusta Port’s infrastructure upgrades are completed, eliminating on-site emissions and advancing port sustainability.

EST 目前已 將原先部署於 Catania 港口的 Konecranes Gottwald 第五代移動式港口起重機轉移至 Augusta 港口，以優化設備資源配置，進一步提升裝卸效率與營運靈活度。

EST will also implement the Konecranes TRUCONNECT intelligent monitoring system, which uses real-time data analysis to provide remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) services. This integration will improve equipment management efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and ensure long-term operational stability, minimizing unexpected downtime.

As part of its resource optimization strategy, EST has already redeployed a Konecranes Gottwald Generation 5 mobile harbor crane from Catania Port to Augusta Port, further enhancing cargo handling efficiency and operational flexibility.
