永續貸款掛鉤減碳與安全指標，ESG績效決定利率

亞洲領先的乾散貨航運商太平洋航運（Pacific Basin）宣布，已成功完成一項總額達2.5億美元、為期七年的永續連結型資金安排，形式為擔保性循環信貸額度（revolving credit facility），資金將用於一般營運需求。此舉承接該公司於2023年12月成功簽署的第一筆1.5億美元永續連結型貸款，顯示企業在氣候轉型與財務韌性雙軸推進下的長期承諾。

Pacific Basin, a leading dry bulk shipping company in Asia, has successfully secured a US$250 million, seven-year sustainability-linked revolving credit facility (RCF) to support its general corporate funding needs. This follows its first US$150 million sustainability-linked loan signed in December 2023, signaling the company’s ongoing long-term commitment to climate transition and financial resilience.

“This is our second sustainability-linked financing, which not only extends the maturity profile of our funding structure but also reinforces our firm commitment to sustainable shipping. It strengthens our financial flexibility and growth momentum amid current market uncertainties and volatility,” said Martin Fruergaard, CEO of Pacific Basin.

這筆最新融資設計了一套具階層式利率調整機制，依據公司在減碳與海員安全等關鍵永續指標的實際表現，調整貸款利息幅度，進一步將財務誘因與環境社會績效緊密掛鉤，體現ESG與企業營運深度融合的趨勢。

The new facility features a tiered interest rate adjustment mechanism tied to the company’s actual performance on key sustainability metrics, such as carbon emissions reduction and seafarer safety. This structure strengthens the alignment between financial incentives and environmental and social outcomes, reflecting the growing integration of ESG into core corporate operations.

此外，太平洋航運邀請國際信評機構穆迪（Moody’s Investors Service）提供第二方意見，針對永續關鍵績效指標（KPI）與永續目標（SPT）之設計進行審查與驗證。穆迪確認，這些指標與公司2050年達成淨零排放、提升海上員工福祉等長期目標密切一致，具高度相關性與可信度。

To ensure credibility and alignment with international best practices, Pacific Basin engaged Moody’s Investors Service to provide a Second Party Opinion (SPO) on the design of the facility’s key performance indicators (KPIs) and sustainability performance targets (SPTs). Moody’s confirmed that the indicators are closely aligned with Pacific Basin’s long-term goals of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 and enhancing seafarer welfare, attesting to their relevance and robustness.

這筆信貸受到市場熱烈認購，最終超額認購，且利率具有競爭力，顯示投資人對太平洋航運永續發展路徑與成長策略的高度信任。

The credit facility was heavily oversubscribed and secured competitive interest rates, demonstrating strong investor confidence in Pacific Basin’s sustainable development trajectory and growth strategy.

為深化治理結構與永續決策力，公司也在今年初成立董事會層級的「永續發展委員會」，加強業務策略與永續願景之間的對齊，並提升公司在氣候治理方面的透明度與問責性。

In a move to strengthen sustainability governance, the company established a Board-level Sustainability Committee earlier this year to enhance alignment between business strategy and sustainability vision, and to improve transparency and accountability in climate-related decision-making.

同時，太平洋航運也積極布局綠色燃料發展，近期與香港中華煤氣（Towngas）簽署合作備忘錄（MoU），雙方將探索建立穩定的綠色甲醇（green methanol）供應鏈，為未來導入雙燃料低排放新船做好準備。綠色甲醇被視為下一代低碳海運燃料，有望在2030年前成為重要替代能源。

Pacific Basin is also actively investing in green fuel development. Recently, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Towngas (The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited) to jointly explore the development of a reliable green methanol supply chain, paving the way for the adoption of dual-fuel, low-emission vessels in the future. Green methanol is widely regarded as a next-generation low-carbon marine fuel and is expected to play a key role in shipping decarbonization by 2030.
