長榮航空近日宣布首次入選 道瓊永續指數（DJSI）新興市場指數 ，為其可持續發展之路樹立重要里程碑。憑藉在全球航空業中的領導地位，長榮航空在 2024年S&P Global企業可持續性評估 中獲得航空業最高的環境、社會與治理（ESG）評分。

EVA Air recently announced that it was selected for the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) Emerging Markets Index for the first time, setting an important milestone for its sustainable development. With its leadership position in the global aviation industry, EVA Air received the highest environmental, social and governance (ESG) score in the aviation industry in the 2024 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment.

This year, more than 13,000 companies from 62 industries participated in the assessment. Among the 61 airlines evaluated, EVA Air topped the list for its comprehensive and excellent ESG strategy, becoming a model in the industry.

Leading measures to reduce carbon emissions

As a key measure to reduce carbon emissions, EVA Air actively promotes the application of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). In August 2023, EVA Air successfully completed a passenger flight from Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) to Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA), which used a 40% blend of SAF fuel.

As of December 16, 2023, the company successfully used a 30% blend of SAF fuel on a flight from Incheon International Airport (ICN) to Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 14,000 kilograms. EVA Air is also gradually expanding the scope of SAF adoption, planning to use this low-carbon fuel on more routes in the future and working with suppliers to develop more efficient fuel technologies.
