全球食品製造商 Kellanova 近期宣布與印度再生農業企業 Varaha 達成五年合作，協助印度馬哈拉施特拉邦 5,000 名小農轉型為再生農業。此計畫不僅是 Kellanova 氣候目標的一部分，也反映跨國食品公司正加速布局再生農業與供應鏈脫碳。

Kellanova has announced a five-year partnership with India-based regenerative agriculture firm Varaha, aiming to help 5,000 smallholder farmers in Maharashtra transition to regenerative practices. The initiative reflects the company’s broader strategy to decarbonize its supply chain and strengthen climate resilience across global food systems.

Kellanova 已承諾在 2050 年前達成科學基礎減量目標（SBTi）驗證的淨零排放，並設定至 2030 年改善 25 萬名食物價值鏈相關人員福祉的中期目標。印度小農多屬低收入族群，土地面積普遍低於 10 公頃（約 25 英畝），對氣候變遷、肥料價格波動及土壤退化的脆弱度高，因此成為全球再生農業計畫的重要推動對象。

Kellanova has an SBTi-verified commitment to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, along with a 2030 goal to improve the wellbeing of 250,000 people in its food value chain. Smallholder farmers in India - many operating on less than 10 hectares - remain highly vulnerable to climate impacts, fertilizer price volatility, and long-term soil degradation. As a result, they have become a central focus of global regenerative agriculture programs.

此次合作將導入一系列再生農法，包括作物殘渣管理、氮肥使用效率提升、高畦種植與覆蓋作物栽種等項目。這些做法旨在改善土壤健康、減少化肥依賴並提高作物產量，兼顧減碳效益與農民生計。

The partnership introduces techniques such as improved residue management, enhanced nitrogen-use efficiency, raised-bed planting, and cover cropping. These practices aim to restore soil health, reduce chemical fertilizer dependence, and increase crop yields, delivering both climate benefits and livelihood gains.

Kellanova 亞太、中東與亞洲供應鏈副總裁 Shaughan Kennedy 表示，再生農業能同時推動氣候行動與農民繁榮，符合消費者對負責任原料來源的期待。他強調，此計畫將成為食品業界的典範。

Shaughan Kennedy, Kellanova’s VP of Supply Chain for Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Asia, said the initiative demonstrates that “climate action and farmer prosperity can go hand in hand.” He noted that consumers increasingly expect responsibly sourced ingredients, positioning this project as an industry-leading example.

此次合作也延續 Kellanova 上月與 Indigo Ag、Walmart 的共同投資，支持向 Walmart Great Value 自有品牌供應稻米的阿肯色州農民轉型至再生農法。顯示再生農業已成為跨國品牌管理供應鏈風險、確保穩定糧源與回應市場 ESG 要求的重要工具。

The deal follows Kellanova’s recent co-investment with Indigo Ag and Walmart to support Great Value brand rice farmers in Arkansas in transitioning to regenerative agriculture. These parallel initiatives highlight how global food companies are using regenerative practices to manage supply chain risks, meet ESG expectations, and ensure long-term crop stability.

對 Varaha 而言，該合作緊接著獲得永續投資公司 Mirova 的 3,000 萬美元資金挹注後推出。Varaha CEO Madhur Jain 表示，與 Kellanova 的合作將結合科學方法、數位工具與深入的農民輔導，創造可量化的氣候效益與生計改善。
