Global supply chain digitization and sustainability leader Blue Yonder has announced the acquisition of the business assets of UK-based climate tech startup Pledge Earth Technologies. This move integrates Pledge’s internationally compliant carbon emissions tracking technology into Blue Yonder’s supply chain platform, enabling companies to more effectively monitor and disclose Scope 3 emissions, in response to increasingly stringent sustainability disclosure regulations.

Founded in 2021, Pledge Earth Technologies developed a cloud-based platform that automatically aggregates freight data from multiple logistics modes - including air, sea, and inland transport - and calculates the associated carbon emissions. With its integration into Blue Yonder’s platform, companies can now track the full carbon footprint of their supply chain networks in one place, aligned with ISO 14083 and GLEC frameworks, and compliant with disclosure requirements from the EU CSRD, SBTi, CDP, and more.

The EU CBAM began its transitional phase in 2023, the U.S. SEC adopted draft climate disclosure rules in 2024, and countries across Asia - including South Korea, Singapore, and Japan - have launched carbon taxes or pricing systems. This acquisition provides companies with audit-ready Scope 3 emissions data, a crucial entry point into carbon markets. It enables participation in the voluntary carbon market (VCM), carbon asset inventorying, and performance-based decarbonization transactions, such as carbon-neutral logistics contracts. As trends like internalized carbon costs and sustainability-linked financing grow, supply chain carbon data is poised to evolve from an ESG appendix to a core variable influencing profits, valuations, and investment ratings.
